Term 2 Mufti Day Raises $4,217; Out-of-Uniform Standards 'Slipping'

Term 2, Week 7 · The Student Representative Council

The Term 2 Mufti Day raised $4,217.50 for the school's nominated charity, with strong participation across all year groups. The Student Representative Council thanks the community for its generosity.

The Deputy Headmaster has, however, asked the school to reflect on what was described in Monday's assembly as a "concerning slippage" in mufti standards. Several outfits, the Deputy noted, "appeared to have been assembled in a single uninterrupted breath".

Of particular concern: the prevalence of Crocs, the increasing tendency of Year 10 students to interpret "mufti" as "pyjamas", and a single Year 8 student who arrived in what staff have described, with great care, as "a costume".

Future Mufti Days will retain a $5 donation requirement and the optional addition of a written explanation, particularly for ensembles described internally as "thematic".

The SRC reminds students that all proceeds were donated and that the SRC itself does not, contrary to common belief, receive a cut.
