Book a Tour
Self-guided. Bring closed shoes and lowered expectations.
A school tour is the best way to get a feel for the College. Tours are conducted on a self-guided basis, on the assumption that prospective families would prefer to wander unsupervised, judging discreetly, and that the school would prefer to let them.
Recommended Itinerary
- The Pacific Highway gate. Begin here. Cross the pedestrian crossing only when the green man permits. The school accepts no responsibility for visitors who are gentle about this rule.
- The front lawn. Walk slowly. Note the sandstone plinth, fifteen metres in. Note that there is nothing on it. Do not, under any circumstances, ask why.
- The Front Office. The receptionist will recognise that you are touring and pretend not to. This is correct procedure.
- The Avenue. Stroll. Recently absorbed from Hornsby Shire Council. Pedestrian use only. No futures trading.
- Bowman Field. One of six sporting fields. Currently doubling as the cadet bivouac site. Step around the platoons.
- The Library. Quiet floor. Observe the Year 12 cohort in their natural habitat. Do not make eye contact during Trial HSC.
- The Chapel. Take a moment. The acoustics are forgiving. The pews are not.
- The canteen. Pretend your Flexischools account has just lapsed. Note the staff response. Do not eat.
- Locker Bank C. Suspicious. Move along.
- Locker Bank E. Highly suspicious. Do not engage.
- The Westfield underpass. Optional. Five-minute walk via the side gate. Used by senior students for what they describe as "academic recovery".
- Hornsby station. Optional. The school does not endorse this leg of the tour but cannot, in practice, prevent it.
- The Sport Complex. Note the trophy cabinet, particularly the items behind the cabinet, which are not to be discussed.
- The Front Office (again). Conclude. The receptionist will continue not recognising you.
