Cadet Unit Annual Bivouac Relocated to Bowman Field After Permit Lapse
Term 2, Week 9 · The Bulletin Desk
The annual Cadet Unit bivouac, traditionally held over three nights at a regional training area north of Sydney, has been relocated to Bowman Field following a permit lapse with Hornsby Shire Council. Staff have stressed that the educational outcomes of the exercise will not be compromised.
Cadets will sleep in standard issue accommodation deployed in three platoon clusters between the rugby posts. Officers have asked that the goalposts not be referred to as "Sangars".
Rations have been adjusted accordingly. Each platoon has been allocated one (1) Up & Go per evening for morale purposes. Hot lines remain in operation, weather permitting, behind the canteen.
Promotion exercises will continue as scheduled. The orienteering component has been replaced by a "navigate the long way around the field" task, owing to the limited terrain. The Avenue has been declared out of bounds for tactical movement, by request of residents.
Parents have been asked not to drop off additional supplies, however well-intentioned. The Cadet Unit notes that on Friday evening alone, fourteen separate Uber Eats deliveries were intercepted at the Pacific Highway gate.
